Welcome to Eurocars Car Rental in Crete. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully, as they outline your rights and responsibilities during the rental period.
1. Driver Requirements
In case the driver does not meet the following requirements on pick up of the rental car, reservation will be cancelled without refund.
1.1 Minimum Age
All drivers must be between 23 - 75 years old to rent a car.
1.2 Documents Required
To rent a car in Crete with Eurocars, you must present:
• A valid driver’s license (held for at least 3 years before the rental start date.
• A passport (for non-EU residents) or ID card (for EU residents)
• All documents must be original and valid throughout the entire rental period.
1.3 Driving License Validity in Greece
• EU & EEA countries: National license accepted — no International Driving Permit (IDP) required.
• USA: National license accepted — no International Driving Permit (IDP) required.
• Canada: National license accepted — no International Driving Permit (IDP) required.
• Australia: National license accepted — no International Driving Permit (IDP) required.
• Other countries: If your license is not issued by a country that is part of the Vienna Convention, you must hold both your national license and an International Driving Permit (IDP).
2. Use of the Rental Vehicle
The rental car must NOT be used for:
• Transporting passengers or goods for payment
• Towing or hauling other vehicles or objects
• Participating in sports events or races
• Being sub-rented or lent to third parties
• Carrying heavy loads beyond the permitted limit
• Transporting flammable, dangerous, or illegal materials
• Any activity violating customs regulations, traffic laws, or other legal provisions
Any person violating these restrictions is fully liable, together with the renter and/or authorized driver and the Full Damage Waiver Insurance is not valid anymore.
2.1 Renter Responsibilities
• Handle the vehicle with care.
• Regularly check oil level, coolant, tire pressure, and engine condition, especially on longer rentals.
• Follow all Greek traffic laws.
• Immediately inform Eurocars for any damage or malfunction during the rental period.
3. Pick-up & Return Policies
3.1 Delivery Hours
• Rental car delivery is available daily 08:00–22:00 depending on your location.
• Return your rental car daily at any time upon arrangement with EUROCARS.
• 24/7 Pickup & Return at Heraklion Airport (HER) and Chania Airport (CHQ).
3.2 Nighttime Delivery Fees
Pickup after 22:00 is possible only at Heraklion Airport & Chania Airport
• 22:00–00:00: +€25
• 00:00–08:00: +€50
If guests do not show up within 1 hour of the scheduled pickup time without prior notice, our representative will leave, and the vehicle must be collected the next day. Night charges remain applicable.
4. Delays & Late Returns
• There is a grace period of up to 1 hour upon agreement with Eurocars.
• Returns for any reason, more than 1 hour late will be charged an extra rental day.
5. Fuel Policy
5.1 Standard Policy
• Return the car with the same fuel level as collected.
• No refunds for unused fuel.
• If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than collected, the difference will be charged based on the current market price.
5.2 Tank Filling Option
• Upon request and for an extra cost, cars can be delivered with a full tank and returned empty.
• No refund for unused fuel.
6. Traffic Fines
The renter is fully responsible for any traffic violations and fines incurred during the rental period, including but not limited to speeding, illegal parking, and traffic sign violations.
In the event of a traffic fine, Eurocars must be informed immediately.
If the vehicle’s license plates are removed by the police, the driver is responsible for:
- Paying the fine in full
- Visiting the police station with the official payment receipt
- Requesting and collecting the license plates in person
If the rental period has ended and the license plates have not been returned, the renter will be charged for each additional day the vehicle remains out of service, until the plates are fully recovered and returned to Eurocars.
7. Geographic Restrictions
Shipping the rental car outside of Crete is strictly prohibited.
In case a car is shipped out of Crete, full damage waiver insurance is not valid anymore, the driver is fully responsible for any damages might caused to the rental car and for transporting the rental car back to Crete at EUROCARS station.
8. Insurance Coverage
8.1 Full Damage Waiver Insurance (FDW) is always included in EUROCARS rates with:
- Zero excess fee
- Zero deposit
- No credit card required
- No hidden costs
8.2 Included Insurances
- Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
- Third Party Insurance (TPI)
- Theft & Fire Insurance
- Glass & Mirrors
- Wheels & Underbody
8.3 Not Covered
- Damages caused by unauthorized drivers
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Extreme off-road driving
- Traffic fines
- Key damage or loss
- Fueling with the wrong type of fuel
- Failure to follow rental terms.
9. Accident With The Rental Car
9.1 What To Do in Case of an Accident
In case of an accident the driver must follow the procedure below :
1. Stop immediately after the incident.
2. Inform EUROCARS immediately by phone or email.
3. Inform the Traffic Police (100).
4. Collect Name / Mobile / Vehicle Plate Number of involved parties.
5. DO NOT move the car until police or insurance representatives arrive.
Failure to follow these steps results in loss of insurance coverage and the driver will be responsible 100% for damages caused to the rental car.
9.2 Vehicle Replacement After Accident
If the renter is not responsible for the accident
Subjected to availability, if necessary, a replacement vehicle (same or similar category) will be provided.
If the renter is responsible for the accident:
- No replacement is included.
- A new rental may be provided with new agreement and new payment, based on availability and current rates.
- Eurocars may refuse a replacement if the driver is considered unable to continue driving.
Please note that transfer costs to get passengers back to their place of stay are not covered under any circumstances.
10. Tire Policy
All Eurocars vehicles have a spare tire and tools.
In case of a flat tire, the driver must replace the tire with the spare.
Afterward, contact Eurocars for assistance and directions to the nearest tire service point.
We provide guidance but tire repair/replacement depends on the situation and location.
11. Vehicle Categories & Model Preference
Reservations refer to a group of similar cars, not a specific model.
Guests may request a preferred model, and we will do our best to provide it, but we can not guarantee.
12. Mileage
All rentals include unlimited mileage — drive freely across Crete.
13. Included Services

14. GPS Monitoring
All Eurocars vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking for safety and fleet management.
15. Payment Policy
To confirm a reservation, a prepayment is required.
Payment methods:
• Bank transfer (upon request)
• Card (credit or debit) through our secure online payment system
The remaining Balance will be Paid upon pickup by card (credit or debit) or in cash (EURO).
16. Cancellation Policy
Full Refund: For cancellations made at least 7 days before the scheduled pickup time — no questions asked.
No Refund: For cancellations made less than 7 days from the scheduled pickup time.
All times are based on Greece's local time. We kindly request guests to notify us as early as possible so we can reassign the vehicle.

By renting a car from Eurocars, you acknowledge and agree to all terms listed above.
